# Getting Started

## What is it?

Dynamic Lighting System version 2 (DLSv2) is an [**open-source**](https://github.com/TheMaybeast/DLSv2), **modular** and **extremely customizable** lighting control modification/plugin for Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V). It is the successor to DLSv1, which was originally published in August 2020.

## Credits

DLSv2 was written on C# for the RagePluginHook framework by [TheMaybeast](https://patreon.com/themaybeast) and [PNWParksFan](https://parksmods.com/donate/). The development was assisted in major part by the DLSv2 team, which was composed by, in no specific order:

* neversober81
* +Vincent
* Cj24

This release was also only made possible by the amazing DLSv2 testing team that provided valuable feedback during the different stages of development.

## Licensing

DLSv2 is covered under the [GNU Lesser General Public License v2.1](https://github.com/TheMaybeast/DLSv2/blob/main/LICENSE).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://themaybeast.gitbook.io/dlsv2/getting-started.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
